Software Engineer – Robotics Platform

About the role

CeiliX is looking for a Software Engineer to join the robotics platform team in Euskirchen. You will initially focus on making the ceiling‑mounted robot's localization system production‑ready and later expand to other core components of the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and harden the C/C++ runtime on real‑time Linux that reads QR‑coded ceiling tags and fuses data with motor odometry.
• Maintain the tooling and database for tag production, serialization, and mapping of customer installations.
• Implement camera calibration and mapping layers to generate usable maps for each site.
• Collaborate on motion control, industrial protocols (Profinet, MQTT, ROS), fleet coordination, and backend services for the customer‑facing UI.
• Travel to customer sites and trade fairs to debug live systems and apply on‑site fixes.

Required profile

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience with hardware‑adjacent work (firmware, embedded, robotics).
• Strong C/C++ and Golang skills.
• Hands‑on Linux experience, preferably on ARM devices and real‑time kernels.
• Comfort with low‑level hardware, electrical basics, and sensor integration.
• Fast learner, self‑directed, and able to work without constant guidance.
• Eligibility to work in the EU, fluent German, and willingness to travel within the EU.
