Account Manager – Medical Ophthalmology (Germany)

About the role

Leica Microsystems is seeking an Account Manager for Medical Ophthalmology to drive sales of advanced medical solutions across public and private hospitals and clinics in Germany. The role focuses on sustainable market‑share growth and profitable revenue, especially in Advanced & Workflow surgery.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a local business strategy aligned with EMEA guidelines to achieve growth and market‑share targets.
• Research and identify new business opportunities, generate sales, increase installed‑base penetration and upsell existing contracts.
• Implement a comprehensive key‑account management strategy for selected medical accounts, fostering long‑term relationships.
• Continuously assess and validate customer needs, providing feedback to senior management and business units.
• Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams (Customer Service, Marketing, Service, HR, Finance, Legal) to ensure alignment and support for ambitious targets.
• Report to the Sales Manager Medical CEE and work remotely covering the Southern region (Berlin, NRW, Hamburg, Hannover).

Required profile

• Proven experience in medical device or ophthalmology sales.
• Highly collaborative mindset with the ability to work across multiple internal departments.
• Strong understanding of local market dynamics, competitive landscape and future trends.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills with key medical accounts.
