Design Engineer – PEM Fuel Cell Stack (Aerospace)

About the role

As a Design Engineer at Aerostack, a joint venture between Airbus and an automotive partner, you will develop PEM fuel‑cell stack components for zero‑emission aircraft. The role concentrates on creating detailed bipolar‑plate CAD models and supporting the technical development of stack parts, jigs and tools.

Key responsibilities

• Produce and release CAD drawings that comply with Aerostack standards and configuration‑management rules.
• Design and parameterise CAD models for bipolar plates, including mass, volume and assembly checks.
• Define, cascade and manage requirements for stack components, jigs and tools.
• Perform mechanical, thermal, fluid and electrical analyses and tolerance calculations.
• Prepare models for CAE simulations and generate Bills of Material.
• Apply Aeronautical standards, release manufacturing drawings and support configuration management in SAP.
• Participate in Design‑FMEA and Process‑FMEA activities.
• Coordinate procurement, manufacturing and assembly of prototypes and support validation & verification activities.
• Collaborate with component engineers, project leads, supply‑chain, cost engineering and quality teams.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
• Proven experience in CAD‑based design of fuel‑cell or aerospace components.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, thermal, fluid and electrical analysis methods.
• Familiarity with configuration‑management processes and SAP.
