Design Engineer – PEM Fuel Cell Stack (d/f/m)

About the role

Aerostack, a joint venture between Airbus and an automotive partner, is seeking a Design Engineer to develop PEM fuel‑cell stack components for aeronautic applications. You will focus on bipolar‑plate CAD design and contribute to the technical development of next‑generation zero‑emission aircraft technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Create and release CAD drawings in line with Aerostack standards and configuration‑management rules.
• Develop advanced, parameterised CAD models, perform mass/volume calculations and assembly checks.
• Conduct mechanical analyses (thermal, fluid, structural, electrical) and tolerance calculations.
• Prepare CAD models for CAE simulations and generate Bills of Material.
• Apply Aeronautical standards, release manufacturing documentation and support SAP configuration management.
• Participate in D‑FMEA and P‑FMEA activities, ensuring quality and safety.
• Coordinate procurement, manufacturing and assembly of parts, jigs and tools.
• Support validation and verification (V&V) activities to reach TRL 5+.
• Collaborate with component engineers, project leads, supply‑chain and quality teams.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical or related engineering discipline.
• Proven experience in CAD design for complex mechanical systems.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, thermal and fluid analysis methods.
