Flight Test Pilot / Operator

About the role

STARK is seeking a Flight Test Pilot / Operator to take its Counter‑UAS systems from the lab to real‑world operations. You will lead flight test campaigns, operate unmanned systems in realistic environments, and turn field performance into actionable engineering feedback.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute flight test campaigns for UAS and Counter‑UAS platforms.
• Operate unmanned systems during trials, handling mission setup, execution, and post‑flight analysis.
• Support integration and validation of sensors, payloads, and countermeasure systems.
• Develop and refine test procedures, checklists, and safety protocols.
• Collect, analyse, and communicate test data with clear recommendations for engineering teams.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in field conditions.
• Collaborate closely with software, hardware, and systems engineers to drive rapid iteration.
• Assist with customer demonstrations and operational deployments as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in UAS operations, flight testing, or field engineering (defence, aerospace, or RC).
• Proven ability to work independently in test or field environments.
• Strong understanding of flight operations, safety procedures, and airspace regulations (EASA or equivalent).
• Valid drone operator certification (A1/A2/A3, STS 1 & STS 2) or willingness to obtain quickly.
• Comfortable with demanding outdoor conditions and frequent travel.
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English; German is a plus.
