Head of Finance

About the role

This is a high‑impact leadership position for a finance professional who will shape and scale the financial backbone of a fast‑growing, consumer‑focused digital business. Based in Germany and operating in a remote‑first environment, you will be the first in‑house finance leader, building structure, rigor, and strategic clarity across all financial operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead financial modeling, forecasting, strategic planning, and cash‑flow management.
• Own budgeting processes and provide leadership with clear visibility into financial trade‑offs, risks, and performance drivers.
• Maintain investor‑ready financial models, reporting structures, and board materials for fundraising and strategic discussions.
• Oversee inventory accounting, cost controls, and reconciliation of revenue, expenses, cash flow, and COGS.
• Strengthen financial visibility into profitability, margins, and unit economics while ensuring accurate, timely reporting.
• Establish robust financial controls, audit‑ready processes, and reliable month‑end close procedures.
• Partner with department leaders to align budgets, monitor spend, and improve financial decision‑making.
• Develop contingency and scenario‑planning frameworks to support business resilience.

Required profile

• 5‑10+ years of experience in finance, FP&A, accounting, or operational finance, preferably in high‑growth or startup environments.
• Strong expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and strategic financial planning.
• Proven experience managing inventory‑heavy or product‑based financial operations.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and experience with ERP/accounting systems.
• CPA or equivalent professional certification preferred.
• Ability to balance strategic advisory responsibilities with hands‑on financial execution.
