HR Business Partner

About the role

Gates, a leading manufacturer of fluid power and power transmission solutions, is looking for an HR Business Partner to join its German HR team. Reporting to the HR Manager Germany, you will deliver a high‑quality employee experience and act as a trusted advisor to site leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Provide generalist HR support across the employee lifecycle, including performance management, employee relations and compliance.
• Lead talent management and acquisition activities such as workforce planning, role definition, sourcing, selection, hiring recommendations, contract issuance and onboarding.
• Oversee payroll administration, audits and coordination with internal/external payroll providers.
• Manage Time & Attendance processes, ensuring accurate records in line with legal and company requirements.
• Maintain HRIS and ERP data, handling onboarding, off‑boarding, promotions, salary changes and other employee transactions.
• Drive absenteeism and health‑management initiatives, monitor trends and support case management.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of German labour law and HR compliance.
• Experience in full‑cycle recruitment and talent management.
• Proven ability to partner with managers and provide strategic HR advice.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
