HR Generalist

About the role

Nextcloud is looking for an HR Generalist to support its rapidly growing, globally distributed team. You will play a key part in aligning people processes with business goals while fostering a positive, open‑source culture.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full employee life‑cycle for a worldwide workforce, from onboarding to off‑boarding.
• Ensure compliance with German, French and Dutch employment legislation, reducing legal risk.
• Participate in probationary reviews, annual performance meetings and disciplinary discussions.
• Support the design and rollout of a new HR software platform from the ground up.
• Act as a liaison between management and staff, handling grievances and requests with diplomacy.
• Provide leadership coaching to middle managers and advise on people‑related decisions.
• Handle routine administrative tasks such as tracking sick leave and annual vacation balances.

Required profile

• Practical problem‑solver with strong interpersonal skills at all organisational levels.
• Experience managing HR processes for a distributed, multi‑country team.
• Solid knowledge of German, French and Dutch employment law.
• Proven ability to implement HR software solutions.
• Diplomatic approach to conflict resolution and employee relations.
