Procurement Manager, Advanced Manufacturing

About the role

Proxima Fusion is building the next generation of stellarator fusion power plants. As a Procurement Manager for Advanced Manufacturing you will lead the sourcing of highly specialised components that have never been produced before, directly supporting the Alpha and Stellaris projects.

Key responsibilities

• Own procurement for advanced manufacturing, engineered components and fabrication.
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for build‑to‑print parts, magnets, castings, forgings and welded assemblies.
• Identify, qualify and manage manufacturing partners capable of delivering novel, low‑volume, high‑precision components.
• Negotiate contracts and agreements, ensuring cost‑effective and reliable supply.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering and Quality teams to align specifications and industrialisation milestones.

Required profile

• Proven experience in procurement or supply chain within advanced manufacturing or high‑tech environments.
• Strong understanding of complex engineered components such as superconducting magnets, machined parts, castings and forged items.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with engineering, quality and project teams.
• Demonstrated negotiation and contract management expertise.
• Experience driving sourcing strategies from prototype to production scale.
