UAV Pilot / GCS Operator – Production & Validation

About the role

Stark is seeking a skilled UAV Pilot / GCS Operator to join its production and validation team in Munich. You will work closely with flight test engineers, software developers, and production staff to execute and document flight tests for cutting‑edge unmanned aircraft.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct remote piloting and ground control station (GCS) operations for production‑level UAVs.
• Execute standardized flight‑test programmes with high repeatability and precision.
• Monitor live telemetry and onboard video streams, ensuring flight conditions stay within the test envelope.
• Prepare aircraft pre‑flight, verify control links, and perform functional system checks.
• Maintain detailed logbooks and regulatory records for each airframe.
• Lead airspace monitoring and de‑confliction in line with SORA and EASA requirements.
• Respond to flight anomalies and emergencies following established safety protocols.
• Contribute to pilot training material, safety documentation, and procedural improvements.

• Passion for autonomous flight systems and hands‑on testing.
• Ability to work safely in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and rigorous documentation habits.
• Willingness to mentor junior operators and grow toward a senior test‑pilot role.

Required skills

• GCS operation and remote piloting of UAVs.
• Experience with Ardupilot or PX4 autopilot platforms.
• Knowledge of SORA (Specific Operations Risk Assessment) methodology.
• Familiarity with EASA regulatory requirements for unmanned aircraft.
• Telemetry monitoring and real‑time video stream handling.
