AI Engineer Working Student – Build Proof‑of‑Concept Apps

About the role

Cognee is looking for a motivated working student to help build small, high‑quality proof‑of‑concept applications using our open‑source AI memory engine. You will work at the intersection of engineering, research, product, and technical storytelling, turning cutting‑edge AI ideas into clear, public‑facing demos and content.

Key responsibilities

• Develop proof‑of‑concept applications with Cognee’s Python SDK.
• Explore current AI trends, model capabilities, and agent frameworks to identify use cases.
• Create demos that showcase memory, knowledge graphs, retrieval, and feedback loops in real‑world agentic systems.
• Write technical blog posts, tutorials, and walkthroughs explaining your work.
• Publish demos and content on platforms such as GitHub, X, LinkedIn, and Hacker News.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and growth teams to shape product narratives.
• Improve documentation, examples, and onboarding materials for developers.
• Test new ideas quickly, document findings, and suggest product improvements.

Required profile

• Currently studying or recently graduated in computer science, AI, data science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field.
• Strong Python programming skills and comfort with APIs, SDKs, notebooks, and developer tools.
• Interest in large language models, AI agents, retrieval‑augmented generation, vector databases, knowledge graphs, and AI infrastructure.
• Ability to build polished technical demos independently.
• Excellent written communication skills.
