Electrical Test Technician / Elektroprüftechniker (m/f/d) – Berlin

About the role

Tesla’s Cell Qualification and Abuse Test teams are seeking an Electrical Test Technician to perform cell and battery testing in a fast‑paced, high‑visibility environment. You will work with specialized equipment, high‑voltage batteries and hazardous materials while ensuring data quality and test throughput.

Key responsibilities

• Execute cell and battery tests independently using cyclers, environmental chambers, data loggers and SOPs.
• Prepare test setups, instrument devices, charge batteries and perform destructive teardowns for root‑cause analysis.
• Document findings, generate reports and maintain high data integrity.
• Commission electrical machines and systems, perform functional testing and record deviations.
• Create and maintain procedures, SOPs, equipment inventories, lab inspections and staff training.
• Handle hazardous materials and high‑voltage energy safely using mandated PPE and procedures.

Required profile

• Completed vocational training or equivalent education in Mechatronics, Electronics, Electrical, Automation or related fields.
• Strong computer proficiency and ability to learn new software quickly.
• Attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive, standardized work reliably.
• Willingness to develop as an Elektrofachkraft and assume responsibilities under dangerous goods regulations.

Required skills

• Experience with cell/battery test equipment (cyclers, environmental chambers, DAQs).
• Hands‑on experience with electrical test equipment and high‑voltage systems.
• Electrical commissioning of machines and functional testing.
• Basic familiarity with German standards for electronics and electricity.
• Strong computer skills for data acquisition and reporting.
