Junior Software Engineer – Robotics & Autonomy

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Junior Software Engineer to develop and deploy autonomy software for real‑world UAV systems. You will work on the full lifecycle from early prototyping to production‑ready deployment, ensuring reliable performance in operational environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain UAV autonomy software, including mission logic, navigation, safety concepts and fallback behaviours.
• Integrate autonomy modules with autopilot stacks such as PX4 or ArduPilot, handling telemetry and health monitoring.
• Contribute to planning and control interfaces, coordinate frames and timing mechanisms.
• Deliver production‑grade code with comprehensive tests, tooling, and simulation/HIL infrastructure.
• Support system integration to guarantee stable and predictable behaviour in real‑world conditions.

Required profile

• Initial experience or strong interest in robotics, autonomy or software development.
• Solid foundations in computer science, software engineering and system‑level thinking.
• Proficiency in C++ for core development and Python for tooling/prototyping.
• Basic understanding of navigation, state estimation and control concepts.
• Ability to translate ambiguous requirements into functional, testable solutions.
• Fluent English; German is a plus.
