Payments Product Manager - Fintech

About the role

Barclays is hiring a Payments Product Manager within its Transaction Banking (Global Transaction Banking) team in Frankfurt. You will support the development and delivery of Euro Clearing and payments solutions for Financial Institutions and FinTech clients, acting as a trusted partner to the Product Lead across the end-to-end product lifecycle. The role sits in Product Development & Management, where you define product vision, gather and prioritise requirements and ensure delivery and ongoing performance.

Key responsibilities

• Define product strategy aligned with business vision, manage capabilities and balance short-term and long-term goals
• Lead cross-functional relationships so that product strategy and goals are aligned across teams
• Oversee product risk management and maintain alignment between product management and control functions
• Own the product development lifecycle from concept to launch, working with product owners to drive change objectives
• Deliver clear objectives and key outcomes, using data-driven analysis to monitor performance and adjust strategy
• Drive a customer-first approach, incorporating customer insights, feedback and pain points into product decisions
• Apply commercial awareness, including pricing models, cost structures and ROI, to product development decisions

Required profile

• Ability to take ownership of initiatives and deliver outcomes end-to-end
• Experience partnering with senior stakeholders and representing product topics when required
• Structured problem-solving and effective stakeholder management across business, technology and control functions
• Clear written and verbal communication, including presenting complex material in a governance-aware manner
• Commercial awareness and the ability to apply judgement to product and client scenarios
• Role is a Controlled Function under the Central Bank of Ireland Fitness and Probity Regulations and may require mandatory regulatory qualifications

Required skills

• Desirable: experience in Transaction Banking, Payments or Cash Management within financial services
• Desirable: knowledge of payments and clearing systems such as SEPA or Euro clearing
• Desirable: understanding of Financial Institution and correspondent banking payment models
• Desirable: exposure to FinTech clients or API-based/platform-led solutions
• Desirable: experience supporting product delivery, including requirements definition and working alongside technology teams
• Desirable: awareness of regulatory developments in payments and related control frameworks
