People & Culture Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced People & Culture Manager to lead HR activities for The Hoxton’s new hotel in Hamburg. You will drive recruitment, employee relations and culture initiatives throughout the pre‑opening phase and beyond.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with hotel leadership to provide HR advice and support.
• Implement and manage HR policies, processes and procedures in line with German employment law.
• Develop and execute recruitment strategies to attract talent and build a talent pool for succession planning.
• Design and deliver development opportunities in collaboration with the Director of Learning & Development.
• Promote The Hoxton values, ensuring a fair, safe and inclusive workplace and leading engagement initiatives.
• Oversee talent review processes, including coffee chats, annual reviews and career management.
• Lead “Do More” community projects with local charities.
• Support managers on employee‑relations and performance‑management cases.
• Collaborate with European/Global HR teams on projects and roll‑outs.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of full‑cycle HR experience in the hospitality sector.
• Experience opening a hotel is a strong plus.
• Strong knowledge of German employment legislation.
• Passion for hospitality and a collaborative, ego‑free attitude.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, pre‑opening environment.
