RF Waveform and Modulation Expert

About the role

STARK is seeking an RF Waveform and Modulation Expert to support the design, integration and optimisation of communication links for its unmanned systems, ground control stations and tactical setups. You will work closely with RF, antenna, network and GCS teams to ensure reliable, robust and low‑latency links in contested operational environments.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate, compare and recommend waveform and modem technologies for varied ranges, data rates and mission profiles.
• Optimise waveform parameters, modulation settings, coding, bandwidth and throughput to maximise link stability and resilience.
• Support system integration of radios, modems, antennas and networking equipment into deployable communication solutions.
• Plan and execute laboratory, field and range tests to validate performance metrics such as throughput, packet loss, latency and link margin.
• Analyse behaviour in challenging RF environments and propose improvements for interference resistance and spectrum utilisation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve communication issues across air, ground, maritime and mobile platforms.

Required profile

• Strong background in RF engineering, waveform theory and modem technologies.
• Experience working on communication systems for autonomous or unmanned platforms.
• Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional hardware and software teams under tight operational constraints.
• Proven problem‑solving skills in real‑world RF testing and optimisation.
