Test Design Engineer (All Genders)

About the role

As a Test Design Engineer in the Electronic Warfare division, you will bridge development and real‑world execution, designing and validating advanced RF communications and electronic attack systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive test plans, procedures and automated test scripts for EW systems, focusing on RF communications, SIGINT and ECM/Jamming.
• Lead and execute field‑testing campaigns in complex, austere environments, troubleshooting hardware, software and RF link issues on‑site.
• Design and replicate contested electromagnetic threat environments using RF signal generators, channel simulators and software‑defined radios.
• Collect, process and analyse large datasets from field tests with MATLAB, Python or specialised RF analysis tools.
• Collaborate with systems, hardware and software engineering teams to feed field data back into the development loop.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Aerospace Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in RF engineering, flight‑test engineering or electronic‑warfare testing.
• Strong knowledge of RF propagation, link budgets, antenna characteristics and modulation techniques (QAM, OFDM, FSK).
• Familiarity with laboratory and field test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, signal generators and oscilloscopes.
• Proficiency in Python, MATLAB or LabVIEW for test automation and data analysis.
