Senior DevOps Engineer (Kiel, Germany)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join a four‑person engineering squad in Kiel, Germany. The position starts as a 24‑month fixed‑term engagement with a clear path to permanent employment, offering a low‑risk way to evaluate the team, technology stack, and location.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement, operate and maintain virtualization and container solutions on Linux and Windows for development and test environments.
• Design, build and continuously optimise CI/CD pipelines in GitLab to automate software builds and deployments.
• Build containerised customer and development platforms, including reusable templates and components following internal best practices.
• Embed DevOps practices alongside development teams, integrating engineering with delivery across the software development lifecycle.
• Implement and continuously evaluate the squad’s DevOps strategy.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional DevOps experience with a hands‑on track record.
• Completed degree in Computer Science or a STEM field.
• Strong German language skills (near‑native preferred).
• Willingness to relocate to Kiel for the engagement and the subsequent permanent role.
• Eligibility for German security clearance (must have lived and worked in Germany for at least five consecutive years).
