Service Manager – Customer Engineer (Long‑Term Assignment)

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Service Manager to lead the Customer Engineer team for the TSMC global account in Germany on a two‑year long‑term assignment. The role combines technical leadership, customer relationship management, and cross‑cultural team coaching.

Key responsibilities

• Manage professional Customer Engineers for the TSMC global account in Germany and ensure performance targets are met.
• Coach and support local managers and European Customer Engineers, fostering cross‑cultural collaboration and mutual trust.
• Develop and maintain customer relationships, conduct regular visits, and act as the primary interface with product divisions such as tech support, training, spares, and reliability.
• Oversee escalation procedures, account planning, financial forecasting, and cost‑efficiency initiatives for the district.
• Lead system installation planning, RMA procedures, and performance tracking of engineers, including clean‑desk compliance and KPI monitoring.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of people‑management or leadership experience.
• At least 7 years of experience in the semiconductor industry or equipment‑supplier after‑sales service.
• Fluent in English and Chinese communication.
• Willingness to travel up to 50 % of the time.
