About the role

Mercor is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to work remotely on enterprise‑level projects. This contract position offers the flexibility to work independently while contributing to a variety of language‑specific toolchains and systems.

Key responsibilities

Develop and complete coding tasks across multiple enterprise languages.
Evaluate, improve, and build toolchains using C and Rust.
Enhance JVM‑based ecosystems with C#, Kotlin, Scala, and Swift.
Optimize production web and operations scripting with Ruby, PHP, and Perl.
Advance scientific and quantitative computing initiatives using R.
Work asynchronously to meet project deadlines and deliver high‑quality code.

Required profile

Strong professional experience in at least one of the listed language domains.
Deep understanding of language internals, tooling, and real‑world production constraints.
Ability to reason about edge cases, performance, and system‑design trade‑offs.
Detail‑oriented with strong written feedback skills.
