Android Engineer – Payment Solutions

About the role

Wallee Group is looking for an Android Engineer to join its Hamburg team and help build secure, high‑performance payment solutions. You will work in an agile, Scrum‑based environment, collaborating with product and support teams to deliver seamless “tap‑and‑pay” experiences for global customers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimise Android terminal software, SDKs and cloud network protocols.
• Implement and maintain cryptographic solutions to meet PCI‑DSS compliance.
• Translate product user stories into technical designs and ensure performant implementations.
• Provide technical guidance for SDKs and APIs, mentor support engineers and conduct thorough code reviews.
• Own complex troubleshooting tasks to keep payment systems resilient and highly available.

Required profile

• Strong command of Kotlin and Java for Android development.
• Solid understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals, including symmetric/asymmetric encryption and hash functions.
• Professional fluency in English and a collaborative mindset.
• Experience working in fast‑paced, agile teams delivering mission‑critical software.
