Electrical Engineer – Heavy Machinery

About the role

Tata Technologies is seeking an on‑site Electrical Engineer to join a customer’s team in Wackersdorf. You will act as the primary liaison between the customer and Tata’s engineering groups, driving product development from concept through production for heavy‑machinery applications.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse technical data and drawings to identify and resolve design issues.
• Support end‑to‑end product development, including prototype and production stages.
• Design electro‑mechanical systems using CAD tools and deliver 3D harness routing and 2D wiring designs.
• Coordinate project activities with customers and internal teams, ensuring cost, quality and timeline targets are met.
• Maintain accurate project documentation in line with company processes.
• Communicate effectively with engineering, manufacturing and technical teams.
• Collaborate with offshore engineering teams to deliver projects efficiently.

Required profile

• Strong experience in electrical engineering for heavy machinery or similar industries.
• Proven expertise with CREO (PTC) for 3D design and electrical harness routing.
• Familiarity with Teamcenter (Siemens) or comparable PLM systems.
• Working knowledge of FEA (linear/non‑linear) and CFD basics.
• Understanding of GD&T, stamping/fabrication processes, APQP, DFMEA, DVP&R and risk management.
• Experience with supplier collaboration and PPAP processes.
