HR Generalist (Remote, International)

About the role

Nextcloud is looking for an HR Generalist to support its globally distributed team. You will act as a trusted partner for employees and managers, ensuring compliance, fostering a positive culture, and helping the company grow.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full employee life‑cycle for a worldwide, remote workforce.
• Ensure compliance with German, French and Dutch employment laws, reducing legal risk.
• Participate in probationary reviews, annual performance meetings and disciplinary processes.
• Support the implementation of a new HR software platform from the ground up.
• Facilitate communication between management and staff, handling grievances with diplomacy.
• Provide leadership coaching to middle managers.
• Handle administrative tasks such as tracking sick leave and annual vacation.

Required profile

• Degree in Human Resources or a related discipline.
• Hands‑on experience with HR practices and employee management.
• Strong knowledge of German or French labour law and related regulations.
• Fluent English and at least two additional languages (e.g., French, Spanish, Dutch, German).
• Excellent listening skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a high degree of confidentiality.
