Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

Cavotec is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to design parts and sub‑systems, ensuring cost‑effectiveness, manufacturability, timely delivery and high quality. The role involves creating detailed 3‑D models, selecting appropriate components and supporting the production and installation phases.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement reliable technical solutions under guidance from the Sub‑system Team Leader.
• Create detailed drawings and modify existing designs using SolidWorks.
• Select proper components according to manufacturer instructions and best practice.
• Store drawings and 3‑D models electronically in the Document Vault.
• Create part numbers and Bill of Materials in the company ERP system.
• Support resolution of technical issues and assist sub‑suppliers during production.
• Support installation activities in the workshop.

Required profile

• Mechanical Engineering degree.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience.
• Fluent English.
• Proficiency with CAD design, specifically SolidWorks 3D modelling.
• Ability to select suitable mechanical components and assess manufacturability.
• Experience with ERP software, preferably Microsoft Dynamics NAV.
• Preferential: experience with actuator selection, mechanical static calculations, and material selection for specific applications.
