Lab Technician

About the role

Proxima Fusion is seeking a Lab Technician to join its Munich lab team. You will work closely with engineers and workshop staff to transform early mechanical and electromechanical concepts into functional prototypes, supporting the development of next‑generation stellarator fusion technology.

Key responsibilities

• Build and test mechanical and electromechanical prototypes from early‑stage designs.
• Carry out rapid prototyping, assembly trials and optimise processes.
• Operate workshop equipment such as milling machines, lathes and test stands.
• Maintain workshop tools, inventory, calibration and ensure safety compliance.
• Perform incoming goods inspections and keep the lab environment clean and organised.

• Hands‑on problem solver comfortable working independently and within a team.
• Proactive, communicative and able to collaborate with engineers in a fast‑moving environment.
• Detail‑oriented, safety‑conscious with high standards for quality and precision.
• Adaptable to evolving technical challenges and willing to take ownership of tasks.
