Load & Stress Engineer – UAV Structural Analysis

About the role

We are looking for a Load & Stress Engineer to ensure the structural integrity and performance of our unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) systems. You will work across design, production and testing phases, applying both hand calculations and advanced finite-element methods to validate and optimise components.

Key responsibilities

• Perform rapid hand calculations for initial sizing and quick verification of structural parts.
• Develop, validate and maintain Finite Element models for static and dynamic load cases.
• Provide data-driven feedback to the mechanical design team to improve structural efficiency.
• Guide engineering and production decisions on non-conformities through analytical troubleshooting.
• Support ground and flight test activities, including hands-on, real-time assistance.

Required profile

• Proven experience with classical hand calculations for structural sizing.
• Hands-on expertise using HyperMesh and OptiStruct for static and dynamic FE simulations.
• Understanding of flight loads, load derivation and global-to-local load cascading.
• Ability to deliver quick, reliable analyses under tight deadlines.
• Creative problem-solving skills when data are limited.
