Junior Backend Developer

About the role

Qwello is building the future of e‑mobility by designing, building, and operating public charging infrastructure across Europe. As a Junior Backend Developer you will join a fast‑growing backend team, creating new services and integrating partner systems to support our self‑designed charging stations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend services and serverless functions using Python and Rust.
• Contribute to the evolution of system architecture to meet scalability and reliability goals.
• Participate in code reviews, planning sessions and team discussions.
• Collaborate with partners to integrate external services.
• Gain hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and infrastructure‑as‑code tools such as Terraform.
• Help improve observability, testing, resilience and security of the platform.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 2–3 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong Python programming skills and willingness to learn Rust.
• Basic understanding of distributed systems.
• Proactive, self‑organising attitude and ability to work in a startup environment.
