Junior DevOps Engineer – Cloud & Kubernetes

About the role

Join Flix’s Platform Engineering team to help build and operate the cloud infrastructure that powers our travel services across Europe and beyond. You will work on a Kubernetes‑based platform on AWS, focusing on automation, infrastructure as code, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS using Kubernetes and Terraform.
• Automate infrastructure and operational workflows to increase efficiency and reliability.
• Support API infrastructure, including API gateways and external API publishing.
• Monitor systems, troubleshoot incidents, and contribute to reliability and recovery processes.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to enable effective platform usage.
• Continuously improve platform tooling, automation, and engineering practices.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation to ensure platform stability.

Required profile

• At least 6 months of professional experience in software, platform, or infrastructure engineering.
• Hands‑on experience with Python.
• Basic knowledge of Linux/UNIX systems and shell usage.
• Experience with containerisation and interest in Kubernetes.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS).
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD concepts.
• Strong communication skills and fluency in English.
