Product Data Lead

About the role

GoodHabitz is transitioning to a product‑led organization and seeks a Product Data Lead to build the product data discipline from scratch. The role will design event taxonomy, instrumentation standards and analytics foundations that enable data‑driven product decisions. Reporting to the Director of Product, the position works closely with product, engineering and revenue teams.

Key responsibilities

• Build the data foundations: define a product event taxonomy, partner with engineering on a tracking plan, and implement instrumentation quality monitoring.
• Measure activation and retention: create activation funnels with segmentation, track retention with repeatable cohort definitions.
• Teach teams to self‑serve on analysis and own the metrics narrative through regular rituals and clear activation → engagement → retention → GRR reporting.
• Enable cross‑functional alignment: clarify data ownership, lead critical identity plumbing, and balance shipping practical v1 models with iterative rigor.

Required profile

• Experience building end‑to‑end product data systems (instrumentation, modeling, dashboards).
• Comfortable working hands‑on as an individual contributor while shaping the discipline.
• Experience owning a tracking plan, event taxonomy or naming conventions in partnership with engineering.
• Ability to turn ambiguous product and business questions into clear, durable measurement definitions.
• Proven track record improving data trust through quality practices and documentation.
• Background with B2B SaaS product teams is a plus.
• Strong collaboration skills across Product, Engineering and Revenue/CS stakeholders.
