Technical Lead, Product

About the role

Bioptimus is seeking a Technical Lead, Product to turn its AI foundation models for biology into usable B2B products. This senior, remote position will own end‑to‑end feature development, bridging back‑end services, APIs and front‑end interfaces for scientists and engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, test and ship product features spanning back‑end services and front‑end interfaces for B2B biology applications.
• Develop and maintain scalable APIs (REST, gRPC) that compose model packages into product capabilities.
• Create data workflows and work fluently with the core stack (Python, SQL).
• Integrate SDK and model packages produced by Product Engineers and provide feedback on interface requirements.
• Set engineering patterns and standards for owned surfaces, lead design on ambiguous cross‑cutting problems, and mentor engineers through code reviews and pairing.
• Leverage AI‑assisted coding tools (e.g., opencode, Claude) to accelerate delivery and shape AI‑native development workflows.
• Collaborate closely with Product Engineers, platform and infrastructure teams to align product building with overall strategy.

Required profile

• Proven experience building complex, reliable software products in an AI or data‑intensive environment.
• Strong ownership mindset with ability to take features from concept to production and operate them in production.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work across the stack and multiple teams.
• Interest in biology or life‑science applications is a plus.
