Junior Field Engineer – Robot Operator (Airport)

About the role

This entry‑level position is based at Frankfurt Airport and focuses on operating and maintaining an autonomous robot that patrols airport facilities. You will be the on‑site point of contact, ensuring the robot runs smoothly, verifying its alerts, and reporting any issues.

Key responsibilities

• Start‑up, calibrate, and shut down the robot each day while monitoring its patrol routes in real time.
• Inspect areas flagged by the robot for spills, broken furniture, or non‑functional screens and confirm or dismiss the alerts.
• Perform first‑level hardware support such as clearing sensor obstructions, checking wheels, swapping batteries, and managing charging dock connections.
• Log confirmed findings with photos in the maintenance ticketing system and escalate complex failures to senior engineers.
• Keep the robot clean and ensure its operation does not block passenger walkways or emergency routes.

Required profile

• Fresh graduate (Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or related field) or holder of a technical diploma in Computer Science.
• Hands‑on experience with hardware projects, internships or academic labs is a plus.
• Comfortable using Windows or Linux environments and filling out digital forms.
