Backend Engineer (AI Agents/Workflows)

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Engineer to build and scale AI‑driven services that power our industrial trade platform. You will work on intelligent workflows, integrate large language model APIs, and help create a software‑defined supply chain.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain backend services that embed AI/ML capabilities.
• Write clean, reusable, and high‑performance code with a focus on scalability.
• Develop and optimise APIs that enable AI‑driven features.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers to connect user‑facing experiences with AI‑enabled backend logic.
• Implement and improve distributed systems and data pipelines.
• Work with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini) to build intelligent workflows and automation.
• Participate in code reviews, knowledge‑sharing sessions, and architecture discussions.
• Stay up‑to‑date with emerging AI technologies and backend best practices.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience as a backend or full‑stack engineer with exposure to AI/ML integrations.
• Strong programming skills in Java (Spring Boot) and familiarity with Python for data processing or AI integration.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or BigQuery and writing efficient queries.
• Comfortable working with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS, and CI/CD pipelines.
