Backend Engineer (AWS, Python, TypeScript) – Berlin (Hybrid)

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Engineer with strong expertise in AWS, Python and TypeScript to join a fast‑growing team that builds a world‑leading qualitative data analysis platform. You will work in a hybrid setting from our modern office near Berlin Central Station, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality, scalable services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain the AWS‑based backend architecture.
• Develop efficient Lambda functions using modern Python frameworks (Django, Flask or FastAPI).
• Optimize performance and scalability with PostgreSQL, DynamoDB and caching strategies.
• Write and maintain automated tests (unit, integration, end‑to‑end).
• Maintain documentation and development standards using Poetry, GitHub Actions and Confluence.
• Manage interfaces between core products, account systems and desktop applications.
• Collaborate closely with frontend, AI, QA, product and UX/UI teams.

Required profile

• 3+ years of hands‑on backend development experience.
• Proven ability to work in agile (Scrum or Kanban) environments.
• Strong initiative, excellent communication and a collaborative mindset.
