Backend Engineer – Event‑Driven Systems (Kotlin/Go)

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Engineer who is passionate about building event‑driven, mission‑critical services. You will work with Kotlin or Go to create greenfield components and improve the reliability of existing systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement greenfield mission‑critical backend services.
• Enhance reliability and scalability of existing services.
• Participate in architectural discussions and promote best practices.
• Collaborate closely with product stakeholders to communicate progress and trade‑offs.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, monitoring and alerting.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of commercial software development experience.
• Strong expertise in a strongly typed language, preferably Kotlin or Go.
• Ability to work in a CET time zone and communicate effectively with remote teams.
• Attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality, well‑tested code.

Required skills

• Kotlin or Go (strongly typed language).
• Automated testing and test‑driven development.
• CI/CD infrastructure and pipelines.
• Monitoring and alerting systems.
• API design (REST and GraphQL) with good documentation.
• Micro‑service architecture.
• Containerisation with Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes.
• JIRA, Agile and Scrum methodologies.
