Full Stack Developer – Medical Imaging Annotation Platform

About the role

We are looking for a Full‑Stack Developer to lead the creation of a standalone web‑based annotation platform for medical imaging. You will work on both the front‑end viewer and the Python backend that handles volumetric MRI data, enabling radiologists and ML teams to annotate and consume high‑quality datasets.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build a new web‑based annotation platform from the ground up, reusing key features from our existing ecosystem.
• Maintain and extend the current Cornerstone.js‑based 3D viewer and integrate it with backend services.
• Develop Python APIs (FastAPI/Flask/Django) for loading, saving, and managing annotation state.
• Implement advanced editing tools such as 3D region growing and brush‑based workflows.
• Optimize performance for diverse hardware configurations and ensure scalability for clinical and ML use cases.
• Serve as the technical liaison between software engineers, radiologists, and machine‑learning teams.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional full‑stack development experience, preferably in a startup or med‑tech environment.
• Strong front‑end skills with React (or similar), modern JavaScript (ES6+), HTML, CSS, and UI frameworks like Tailwind or shadcn/ui.
• Solid backend experience in Python and familiarity with FastAPI, Flask, Django or Litestar.
• Commitment to clean code, automated testing, and thorough documentation.
• Experience working in interdisciplinary teams and a problem‑solving mindset.
