Principal Product Manager – Lounge Data Platform

About the role

The Principal Product Manager will lead the strategic roadmap, architecture, and deployment of the data landscape for Zalando Lounge & Outlets. This role partners closely with the Head of Data Platform to shape a data‑driven foundation that supports AI agents, real‑time decisioning, and machine learning.

Key responsibilities

• Define and communicate a transparent product roadmap that balances short‑term business needs with long‑term platform investments.
• Own the lifecycle of reusable data products across conversational analytics, tracking, reporting, and self‑service, focusing on scalability.
• Establish an AI‑ready data foundation, including feature stores, semantic layers, real‑time data products, and metadata management.
• Drive data literacy, governance, and adoption by setting ownership, discoverability, and responsible AI standards.

Required profile

• Significant product‑management experience with complex data, platform, analytics, or infrastructure products.
• Strong understanding of what makes a data product trustworthy: clear ownership, consistent definitions, quality, documentation, and adoption.
• Ability to prioritize urgent requests against strategic investments and communicate technical topics to diverse audiences.
